The unexpectedly harsh storm that swept through parts of the East Coast on Saturday caused some technical issues for Bowker. The company, which provides (among other things) ISBN numbers to publishers, dealt with power outages that brought down its servers for nearly three straight days. After emailing its customters about the issues, and directing them to a tech support email address, a Bowker spokesperson confirmed that the company's Web site is now back online.

The Bowker outage, though, left some publishers, who were trying to upload bibliographic information on their titles certain to e-tailers, in the lurch. As one small publisher, who works expressly with digital titles, complained to PW, the snafu left him "unable to launch a title" on Tuesday.
