Another New England bookstore has put itself on the market. This week David Didriksen announced that he is retiring from the book business and selling 18-year-old Willow Books and Café in Acton, Mass.

The sale of Willow Books follows successful transitions in recent years of Porter Square Books in Cambridge, Mass.; New England Mobile Book Fair in Newton Highlands, Mass.; and Galaxy Bookshop in Hardwick, Vt.

Didriksen, who was a senior v-p with the Hudson Group before becoming an independent bookseller, said: “As I reach retirement age, I find I can’t do everything. I’m not even the key to the store anymore—my staff is. So now is the perfect time to transition to a new owner who will bring the same passion for bookselling which has always been the hallmark of the store.”

The sale of the 10,000 sq. ft. bookstore just outside Boston is being handled by Walter Huskins of Ridge Hill Partners, which handled several other area bookstore sales, including Harvard Book Store in Cambridge, Mass.
