Unit sales of print books in the week ended Aug. 19, 2018, inched ahead 1% from the comparable week in 2017, at outlets that report to NPD BookScan. The largest gain in the week was in adult nonfiction, where print sales increased 3% over the week ended Aug. 20, 2017. Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis remained the top title in the category, selling almost 59,000 copies. In second place was Unhinged, by former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, which sold more than 33,000 units in its first week. Juvenile nonfiction print sales increased 2% over 2017. Big Pre-school Workbook remained in first place on the category list for the third straight week, selling more than 9,000 copies. The book has sold more than 186,000 copies so far this year. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas topped the juvenile fiction list, selling more than 13,000 copies. Wonder by R.J. Palacio jumped into second place on the category list, selling just over 10,500 copies. Sales of adult fiction fell by less than 1% compared to a year ago. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan had another good week and remained #1 on the category list, selling more than 35,000 copies. Texas Ranger by James Patterson and Andrew Bourelle landed in the second spot, selling more than 31,000 copies in its first week.
