3/15 Brian K. Vaughn Saga Premiere Signing in New York

Eisner-winning comics creator Brian K Vaughn will appear at the downtown location of Midtown Comics in Manhattan on March 7 to sign and celebrate the release of the much-anticipated first issue of her new comic Saga. The event takes place from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 and is free to those purchasing Saga #1. The downtown Midtown Comics is located at 64 Fulton Street, New York, NY.

3/16-3/18 Wondercon in Anaheim, CA

On March 16 through 18, Wondercon 2012 will take place in Anahein, CA, and feature such comic industry guests as Mike Mignola, Jim Lee, Manthology editor Renae De Liz, J. Michael Straczynski, Marc Evanier, Fiona Staples and Mark Waid, among many others. Wondercon 2012 will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center at 655 West 34th street, New York, NY. Hours are 12 - 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday. Adult tickets are $25 for Friday or Saturday, $15 for Sunday, and $50 for all three general admission days. Junior (12-17 year olds) and Senior tickets are $13 for Friday or Saturday, $7 for Sunday, and $25 for all three general admission days. Discounts are available when purchased in advance online.

3/17 Challengers Ultimate Drawing Challenge, Chicago

Tony Akins and Ed Siemienkowicz will be hosting a comics art championship at Challengers Comics in Chicago on March 17. From 7-10 p.m., twelve Chicago comics artists will compete before a live audience of fans to see who is the greatest artist. Cupcakes will be provided and attendees are allowed to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Tickets cost $5 for attendees, artists may sign up for the contest online or at Challengers in person for a $20 entrance fee. Challengers Comics is located at 1845 North Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.

3/20 Comics Writing Master Class with Peter David at MOCCA in New York

Peter David, bestselling author and veteran comics creator, will be offering a one-evening master class in comics writing at the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art in New York. The event will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, and is open to teen and adult students. Tickets are $45 for museum members and $50 for non-members. The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art is located at 594 Broadway, Suite 401, New York, NY.
