Marking its second anniversary, Dark Horse Digital, Dark Horse Comics’ standalone online comics store and reader-app, announced plans to add both periodical issues and graphic novel collections from Dynamite Entertainment to its inventory, the first non-Dark Horse titles to be offered through the retail site. Dark Horse Digital is also offered fifty first issues of popular comics for free (on a limited basis) as well as other discounts to celebrate the anniversary.

While Dark Horse comics are available through iOS and Android devices and retail channels, the independent comics publisher launched its own webstore in 2011 and now Dark Horse Digital offers thousands of Dark Horse comics for sale. Now the site is offering its first non-Dark Horse digital comics for sale. Dynamite Entertainment, publisher of such comics series as The Boys, The Shadow and Game of Thrones comics adaptations, will distribute and sell 30 periodical series and 20 graphic novel book collections via the Dark Horse Digital storefront.

Dark Horse President Mike Richardson said, “We’ve been looking for ways to expand our digital presence, and this is our first step to building an even more robust library of digital comics.

In addition Dark Horse Digital will offer 50 first issues of many of its popular comics series for free download until Friday, April 26, at 9 a.m. PST. Dark Horse also offes many of its periodical issues bundled together a discount price and throughout the next weekend these bundles will be priced at a 10% discount. Also DHD newsletter subscribers will receive a additional discount to add on top of that for more savings. The bundling discount will end April 28 at midnight PST.

Dynamite Entertainment CEO and publisher Nick Barrucci said such Dynamite series as Vampirella, Battlestar Galactiva and Red Sonja will alo be among the titles distributed through the Dark Horse Digital storefront. “We’re proud to add Dark Horse Digital to our retail partners selling our digital titles to their audience,” Barrucci said, “Our wide range of titles are a perfect fit for the large audience who purchase Dark Horse titles.”
