7/15: Neal Adams Signing in Los Angeles, CA

Legendary artist Neal Adams will be meeting fans and signing autographs from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles. After beginning his career in newspaper strips such as Ben Casey and Peter Scratch, Adams became one of the defining superhero artists during the 1970s and 80s with his work on Detective Comics, Green Lantern/Green Arrow and X-Men. Still working and in demand today, Adams most recent works include Batman: Odyssey and First X-Men. This event is free to the public, with two free autographs per visitor (subsequently $10 each). 7/15: Kirby Krackle Show in Portland, OR

As part of their “Sounds Like You” West Coast Tour, popular nerd-rock band Kirby Krackle will be performing live at Portland’s Things From Another World on Monday, 7/15 at 8 p.m. (doors at 7:30). The band will be playing songs from their new album, "Sound Like You,” including "Set Your Phaser To Sexy,” “140 Characters,” and “Cosplay Queen.” Tickets are $7, at door only. The country’s largest comic convention is a mecca of pop culture, comics and entertainment at the San Diego Convention Center. It is the ultimate convention experience with the biggest names in the business and a slate of events including a massive exhibit hall with hundreds of vendors, film screenings, artist alley, gaming tournaments, panels for comics, movies and TV, professional workshops, portfolio reviews, Q&As, artist spotlights, the Eisner Awards Ceremony and much, much more. Comics guests include writer Brian Michael Bendis (All New X-Men, Avengers), artist and DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee (Justice League, Superman: Unchained), cartoonist Sergio Aragone (MAD Magazine), cartoonist Jeff Smith (Bone, RASL), author Neil Gaiman (Sandman), animator/producer Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) and Congressman John Lewis (March).
