9/25: Sex Criminals Luanch Party in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Join writer Matt Fraction (Fantastic Four, Hawkeye) and illustrator Chip Zdarsky (Prison Funnies) as they celebrate the launch of their new Image series, Sex Criminals, on Wednesday September 25 at 7 p.m. at Wicked nightclub, presented by The Beguiling Books & Art in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Sex Criminals is the story of Suzie and John, lovers and bank robbers who freeze time whenever they have sex. 9/26: Peter Bagge and Cienna Madrid in Seattle, WA

Acclaimed cartoonist Peter Bagge will be joined by The Stranger's Cienna Madrid on the latest stop in his tour promoting his new book Woman Rebel: The Margaret Sanger Story (Drawn & Quarterly) on Thursday, September 26th at 6:30 p.m. in the Great Hall in the Town Hall community center in Seattle, WA. Woman Rebel tells the story of Margaret Sanger, the social and political activist who founded Planned Parenthood. Bagge will be presenting a slideshow about Sanger and how the book came to be, and later he will be joined by writer Cienna Madrid to discuss issues such as birth-control, women's rights and other causes Sanger stood and fought for. 9/28-9/29: Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo in Cambridge, MA

Be a part of the Boston's independent comics scene at the third annual Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (MICE) taking place on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28-29 at University Hall in Cambridge, MA. MICE is aimed at developing a community of creators and readers and features a number of in-depth panels and workshops for comic makers of all ages. Progamming includes an "Iron Cartoonist" event that pits creators against each other a la Iron Chef, R. Sikoryak's Comics Carousel, live drawing sessions and more. Comics guests include Josh Neufeld (The Influencing Machine), Lucy Knisley (Relish), Maris Wicks (Primates), Nick Abadzis (Laika) and more. This event is free to the public. Meet legendary comics writer Chris Claremont for a signing on Sunday, September 29th from 12-6 p.m. at Dr. Comics in Toronto, Ontario. While he is best known for his seminal runs on Marvel's Uncanny X-Men and X-Men, making both books worldwide bestsellers and creating characters such as Gambit, Kitty Pryde, Rogue and Sabretooth, he has also worked on characters like Superman and Batman.
