Multimedia publisher The Taunton Press and Italian publisher De Agostini have entered into an exclusive partnership agreement in which Taunton will publish all Academia Barilla printed matter in North America. This partnership will include both the distribution and publishing of editorial content from Academia Barilla.
Taunton plans to publish books and magazines featuring the recipes and techniques of Academia Barilla. “Together, we will be publishing several cookbooks and magazines based on Academia Barilla’s authentic, delicious recipes, bringing the best of Italy to North America,” says Jay Annis, v-p of trade sales, who added that the company is working with its retail partners to promote the line.
Taunton has already published two bookazines from Academia Barilla, Pizza, Breads & More and Easy Italian, and will release its first Academia Barilla branded cookbook, Fresh Italian Cooking this month.
Academia Barilla is one of the most respected culinary school in Italy having trained and entertained chefs from all over the world. Barilla is the largest selling brand of pasta in North America. “It is not enough to let other nations know about the high quality of our products,” emphasizes Gianluigi Zenti, the Director of Academia Barilla since its founding, “but we must also communicate the food culture that these products express, with credibility and authority.”
