Kirkus Media has named Meg LaBorde Kuehn chief operating officer. Kuehn will now be focused on what the company called "digital marketing solutions for publishers and a growing suite of services for unpublished and self-published authors."

In addition to Kuehn's promotion Kirkus has hired Perry Crowe as director of the company's new book editing division and Ryan Leahey as indie editor. Casey Gannon has been promoted to marketing director. All three report to Kuehn, who reports to the company's president, Marc Winkelman. In addition to its traditional reviews of books from mainstream publishers, Kirkus reviews books from self-published authors for a fee and is now providing editing services for unpublished and self-published authors.
