Molly Barton, global digital director at Penguin and founder of Book Country, has accepted a faculty position at Wesleyan University and to consult for NYC- and Silicon Valley-based publishing-related start-ups. Book Country director Brandi Larsen continues to manage the site’s day-to-day operations and activities.
Marisa Vigilante will join Rodale as senior editor, effective February 5. She was most recently an editor at PRH.
At Random House, Grant Neumann has been promoted to v-p, senior director, copy. Erika Greber has been promoted to senior marketing manager. Maggie Oberrender has been promoted to marketing manager. Nina Shield has been promoted to associate editor.
Alex Gigante has joined Cowan DeBaets Abrahams & Sheppard LLP as special counsel. Gigante was formerly executive v-p for legal affairs for Penguin Group. Through October 2014, Gigante also will continue his association with Penguin Random House LLC in the part-time position of senior counsel.
