George Lossius, one of the most visible advocates in urging publishers to embrace technology, will step down as chief executive of Publishing Technology plc “in the near future,” according an announcement released by the company Monday morning. Lossius will remain on the board as a non-executive director and Publishing Technology said they expect to announce a successor for Lossius “in due course.”

Lossius commented: “I have enjoyed leading Publishing Technology through a period of development but I believe, and the Board supports my thinking on this, that it is the right time to transition the leadership of Publishing Technology from having a focus of product development, to one that focuses more on business development and implementation, and that it is right to do so under a new CEO.”
