Philip Ruppel, formerly president of McGraw-Hill Education's professional division, has joined Phaidon as chief operating officer.

Ruppel has also held senior positions at McGraw-Hill Education as president, international division, and v-p and group publisher of the professional division. Prior to that, he was associate publisher for the New York Institute of Finance/Prentice Hall.

The appointment reunites Ruppel with Keith Fox, who was named Phaidon's CEO in 2014. Before joining Phaidon, Fox was president of McGraw- Hill Financial's construction division.

"I am delighted that Philip has joined our team," said Fox. "His proven track record of delivering growth through profitable innovation and enhanced digital offerings fits brilliantly with Phaidon's commitment to enhancing our brand as the world's premier fine arts publisher."
