Mark Tavani has been tapped to join Penguin's G.P. Putnam's Sons imprint as v-p, executive editor.

Tavani comes to Putnam after 15 years at Ballantine Bantam Dell where he most recently served as editorial director for fiction. At BBD he focused on commercial fiction and nonfiction, working on titles such as Justin Cronin's trilogy, The Passage and Bill Simmons's The Book of Basketball.

Tavani has also worked with authors such as Steve Berry, Russell Brand, China Mieville, Jim Abbott, Scott Sigler, Jack McCallum, Charlie Huston, and United States Senator Cory Booker.

Tavani will start at Purnam on February 8, 2016, and will reporting to Sally Kim, v-p and editorial director of Putnam.
