Capstone has named Patricia Stockland its new publisher and Darin Rasmussen its v-p of digital product development and management, effective immediately.

Stockland, who was most recently publisher at Cantata Learning, began her career in children's publishing at the Capstone imprint Compass Point Books. The move brings Stockland back to the publisher after an 11-year hiatus.

“It’s truly an exciting time to be rejoining Capstone," Stockland said in a statement. "The company’s aim of improving the world through literacy speaks both to my professional and personal beliefs, and I’m honored to be working with some of the most creative people in our field."

Rasmussen, who will oversee Capstone’s digital product team, was the CEO and founder of marketing and management consulting firm 808 Hats, and previously worked as v-p of marketing and strategy for Edmentum and in the strategic marketing and business development departments at Thomson Reuters.

"I’m looking forward to helping Capstone take digital products, like PebbleGo, to the next level to support educators and librarians in teaching kids to read," Rasmussen said in a statement. "Content creators like Capstone have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the world."
