Nicholas Brealey Publishing continues to grow its U.S. operations. Last week its Boston office launched a revamped Web site (www.nicholasbrealey.com); its first in more than five years. Now it has hired Hillary Park to handle publicity and maintain the Web site and begun partnering with two marketing firms: Shelton Interactive to develop a social media platform and help with publicity, and Monaco Associates to lead strategic marketing planning and execution.

“We’re thrilled to add to our publicity and marketing team. As we take on titles that require more push and pull, we believe this team—and they work fabulously as a team—can really make the difference,” says v-p/editorial director Erika Heilman.

Rusty Shelton, founder of Shelton Interactive, spent more than seven years, including three and half as managing director, at Phenix and Phenix Literary Publicists. Shelton Interactive’s clients include Harvard Health Publications, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and Cave Henricks Communication.

Carolyn Monaco, lead consultant from Monaco Associates, is a seasoned marketer with 25 years of publishing experience. She began consulting in 2009 to build authors’ businesses through bestselling books. Her experience includes consumer marketing positions with Lotus Development, Cook’s Illustrated, Horticulture, Utne Reader, Inc., and Fast Company. She was also marketing director at Tufts Media and Harvard Business School Publishing’s book division.

Before coming to Brealey, Park held positions as associate publicist at Putnam and Riverhead and event marketing manager for Borders Group.
