William Morrow announced plans to publish the definitive memoir and tell-all by controversial rock star and actress, Courtney Love. The memoir, to be written with New York Times bestselling author Anthony Bozza, was bought by Morrow deputy publisher Lynn Grady, who acquired world rights from agent David Vigliano. Carole Tonkinson, of HarperNonfiction will also publish in the UK/CW simultaneously. Says Grady, “Courtney is one of the most fascinating and provocative artists of our time, one of those rare performers who continues to reinvent herself time and again throughout the arc of her career. It’s time for the public to hear her tell her story, as she lived it.”

The as yet untitled memoir will offer a "no-holds-barred" look into Love’s life from childhood to the present day. Born to hippies and coming of age in the 60s and 70s, she was the prototypical “wild child,” with an early history of juvenile delinquency and drug abuse, who eventually found refuge in the alternative music scene. Her relationship with Kurt Cobain placed them at the forefront of “grunge,” a new musical movement—and as a result, into the middle of the American pop culture spotlight.
