The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association announced 12 winners of its 2019 Christian Book Awards during its annual Leadership Summit in Chicago, Ill., recognizing “excellence in content, literary quality, design, and impact,” according to a press release. Lysa TerKeurst received the night's top award, Christian Book of the Year, for Embraced: 100 Devotions to Know God is Holding You Close (Thomas Nelson).

The devotional, which has made PW’s Religion Nonfiction bestsellers list, features daily quotes from Scripture as well as prayer prompts. TerKeurst is the bestselling author of books such as The Best Yes, Uninvited, and most recently It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way. She is also president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, which hosts online Bible studies for women.

Embraced is the second consecutive devotional to win the ECPA’s top award—last year’s prize went to Sarah Young’s 365-day devotional Jesus Always (Thomas Nelson).

Additional winners included David Moberg, senior v-p & group publisher of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, who won the ECPA Chair Award. For a complete list of the winners, click here.
