Hendrickson Publishing Group publisher Paul Hendrickson will retire April 30, Tyndale House Ministries, which acquired the Hendrickson-family-owned business in 2021, announced Friday. HPG and its Rose and RoseKidz imprints focus on publishing Bibles, biblical reference, academic and trade titles.

Hendrickson took over the leadership of HPG in 2013. The company was founded and run by his brothers Steve and Ray, in 1980. Prior to HPG, he spent 25 years in management consulting in financial services, then moved in 2009 to join Ray at Christian Book Distributors, founded by his brothers in 1978 and now known as Christianbook. There, his role was developing new businesses including the Christianbook Partner Services Group, which offers e-commerce and fulfillment services for more than 50 Christian organizations, ministries, and publishers. At HPG, he launched alliances with the German Bible Society, Carta Jerusalem, eTeacher Group, the Theology of Work Project, and Second Baptist Church in Houston.

Tyndale CEO Scott Matthews said, "[Hendrickson's] influence and passion will be missed, but I have no doubt his presence and legacy will continue to be felt.” Hendrickson, who has served on the board of the ECPA, said he felt privileged to be part of Christian publishing, and he hopes "to continue my work by contributing to various organizations and people in a consulting or advisory capacity.”

Ron Beers, chief publishing officer for Tyndale House, announced he has promoted HPG academic marketing manager Hannah Terenzoni to be publishing director for Hendrickson Books and John Ribeiro, who continues as publisher of Rose and RoseKidz, will assume oversight of the Hendrickson Bible Line.
