|The Publicist works under the direction of the Sales & Marketing Director. The position’s primary responsibilities include conceiving, developing and implementing inventive and targeted publicity strategies to capture media attention for the press and its publications. Duties include building and cultivating relationships with print, radio and electronic media outlets nationwide, working with authors to promote their books, organizing author tours, and maintaining the contacts database. In addition, the position submits applications for appropriate awards, and provides assistance in the development of promotional materials as needed.|
Ideal Candidates will be extremely well organized, capable of multitasking, passionate about promoting and selling books, and will have superior communication and writing skills. A love of literature and affinity for the mission of the organization would be beneficial, as would familiarity with the titles on our list.
Minimum requirements include a four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent experience and strong computer and database skills. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. Compensation will be determined based on experience.
