PEN America Announces 2022 Literary Awards Longlists

PEN America has announced the longlists for its 2022 Literary Awards. This year's longlists feature over 100 writers and translators selected by 60 writer-judges. The 11 Literary Awards collectively confer over $350,000 in prize money and span the novel, short story collection, translation, poetry, science writing, essay, biography, and more. Notably, 53% of longlisted titles come from independent and university presses.

This year's nominees include Hanif Abdurraqib, Rivka Galchen, Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, Linda Rui Feng, Torrey Peters, Kristen Radtke, Salman Rushdie, George Saunders, and Rebecca Solnit.

Finalists for the PEN America Literary Awards will be named in January 2022, with an in-person ceremony in late February to announce the winners. View the full longlist ere.
