U Michigan and NFB Launch Book Program for Blind and Print-Disabled

The University of Michigan's HathiTrust Digital Library and the National Federation of the Blind have partnered to make more than 14 million digital book available to blind and print-disabled users. The program will increase the the availability of books for users who are blind or print-disabled. According to the NFB, less than 5% of all published works are estimated to be currently available to the blind. User eligibility for the program will be determined by criteria used by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and similar services authorized under U.S. law.
