Two newcomers to PW's monthly religion lists are in many ways a study in contrasts. The first, Just As I Am: The Autobiography of Billy Graham, was published on April 30 by Harper San Francisco/Zondervan with a one-million-copy first printing. Considering that this is the first time this world figure has looked back on his remarkable life and career, it's no surprise that the book is hitting national charts. In addition to its appearance on our May religion list, Graham's work is debuting at #11 on our general nonfiction list, and will no doubt go higher. Graham's numerous media dates have included "Good Morning America," "20/20" and "Larry King Live;" still to come are "Oprah," "CBS This Morning" and a David Frost interview.

The second religion bestseller offers inspiring proof that small books, too, can hit it big. Small Miracles, by first-time authors Yitta Halberstam and Judith Leventhal, is most assuredly living up to its title. The book, which was released about eight weeks ago by Holbrook, Mass.Ñbased Adams Publishing, has already received a glowing review from Newsday and been featured in USA Today's "Beyond the Top 50: Inspiration" column. Last week Halberstam and Leventhal taped a "Leeza" show, with an air date yet to be announced. According to the publisher, Barnes &Noble has already sold more than 12,000 copies of the book, which now has 130,000 copies in print. Evidently, whether small or large, miracles do happen.
