Publishers Weekly has announced some changes in its Book News and Forecasts departments. Bridget Kinsella, formerly Book News editor, has been named PW's West Coast correspondent, succeeding Roxane Farmanfarmaian, who will attend Cambridge University as a visiting scholar. Farmanfarmaian will continue as a contributing editor.

Charlotte Abbott, formerly nonfiction Forecasts editor, is the new Book News editor. In addition, Lynn Andriani, editorial assistant in the Forecasts department, has been named associate editor for nonfiction in the Forecasts department.

Nora Rawlinson, PW's editor-in-chief, said, "Before she came to Book News, Kinsella was our Midwest correspondent. With this background, and her strong journalistic skills, we know she will do an excellent job covering the West Coast. Abbott's experience as a Forecasts editor and her knowledge of the publishing community make her an ideal candidate for the book news position."

Kinsella said that she is "looking forward to covering the thriving West Coast publishing community" and that she would also be "working on other long-term projects." She is setting up a new West Coast office in the Bay Area and expects to be working by September 10. She can be reached by e-mail at bkinsella@cahners.com. Before she was named Book News editor in 2000, Kinsella had worked as PW's associate editor of bookselling from 1993 to 1994 and as Midwest correspondent from 1995 to 1998.

Abbott was a book editor for eight years at Avon Books and HarperCollins before joining PW's Forecasts in 1999. Her appointment as Book News editor is effective August 20.

Andriani began her career as a sales representative for Library Journal and School Library Journal. She joined the Forecasts department in 2000.
