The appropriately named thriller author Karin Slaughter had a big overseas payday on the eve of the Chicago BEA. Her agent, Victoria Sanders, made her a multimillion-dollar deal with Random House U.K./Arrow publishing director Kate Elton for a further three books. Almost simultaneously, Chandler Crawford, acting for Sanders, sold a couple of Slaughter's Grant County titles to Holland's De Bezige Bij for six figures. The agent is holding off on a new U.S. deal until early August, when Slaughter's latest here, called Indelible, is due from Morrow.
