The Perseus Books Group has added six more literary agencies to its Argo Navis Author Services program. Authors represented by Carol Mann Agency, Joelle Delbourgo Associates, Cynthia Cannell Literary Agency, The Hartnett Agency, Paul Bresnick Literary Agency, and Pinder Lane & Garon-Brooke Associates are now eligible to participate in Argo Navis. Formed last fall, Argo Navis is an e-book distribution and marketing service for authors who are represented by established literary agencies.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer the Argo Navis service to our authors,” said Carol Mann. “I like the idea of an imprint available to our clients that singles out agent-curated material in a sea of self-published titles.”

The six new agencies join Janklow & Nesbit and Curtis Brown Ltd. in the Argo fold. Perseus president David Steinnberger said he is “gratified by the response to Argo. We’re moving full speed ahead to deliver a good service for our clients.” Steinberger wouldn’t comment on additional agencies signing on with Argo, but a number of larger firms are rumored to be in talks with Perseus.

In mid-January Perseus added three new staffers to Argo to meet the demand for the service.
