Jack Lamplough, a longtime marketer and publicist who served as director in the marketing and publicity departments of a number of publishing houses, died on August 20. He was 59.

Lamplough began his publishing career at Tower Books, where he was director of marketing. He then moved to Stewart, Tabori & Chang as director of publicity and marketing. He held the same role at Quirk Books, and served as director of publicity at Overlook Press.

Most recently, Lamplough established his own agency, representing authors, artists, and musicians for publicity, artist management, and literary representation.

A private memorial service is being held in his honor.
