Michelle Lewy, who held executive spots at a number of publishing houses, died May 7. She was 62.

Most recently executive v-p of sales and marketing at Mango Media, Lewy began her career at Bantam Doubleday Dell in 1986, where she rose to national accounts manager. She later joined Scholastic, becoming v-p of sales, and helped build the Harry Potter and Goosebumps brands.

After leaving Scholastic, Lewy worked at the Spier ad agency, was senior v-p of sales at Globe Pequot Press, and director of digital media services at Baker & Taylor. Prior to joining the independent publisher Mango in 2015, Lewy worked at Mobifusion, a Silicon Valley start-up.

Donations in Lewy’s memory can be made to the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Hospital.
