Although BlogWorld brought in strong numbers for BookExpo America this year, the trade show is reporting a slight dip in attendance for the three-day event, compared to 2010. BEA announced, via its blog, that total attendance for the 2011 show was 21,664, compared to 21,919 in 2010. But, when calculating attendance including BlogWorld, which was co-hosted by BEA, the numbers are up, with 23,067 this year compared to 21,919 in 2010.

The number of attendees--a figure that excludes exhibitors--fell to 13,028 from 13,872 in 2010, a decline explained in part by BEA to closer vetting of authors who were looking to get on the show floor.

BEA said that a more detailed breakdown of attendance will follow.
