After the pub date for Black-ish creator Kenya Barris’s forthcoming book, This Is Basic Sh*t (Grand Central), was pushed back from September 2017 to April 2018, he will no longer be speaking at BookExpo’s Thursday morning Adult Book & Author Breakfast.

In a late substitution announced yesterday, Pete Souza, the chief official White House photographer during the Obama presidency, will appear in his place.

The other writers participating in the breakfast remain the same: host Whitney Cummings, retired astronaut Scott Kelly, and novelists Jesmyn Ward and Claire Messud. Father and son Stephen and Owen King will give a prologue to the breakfast.

Souza will speak about Obama: An Intimate Portrait: The Historic Presidency in Photographs (Nov.), which was acquired in late April by Reagan Arthur, publisher of Little, Brown. The book, which contains more than 300 of his images from President Obama’s eight years in office, includes stories and captions with behind-the-scenes context for each shot.
