Grand Central Publishing has acquired world rights to a currently untitled memoir by Caitlyn Jenner. The book, which Jenner is writing with Pulitzer Prize-winner Buzz Bissinger (Friday Night Lights), is set for spring 2017.

Gretchen Young, v-p and executive editor at GCP, acquired the book at auction from Creative Artists Agency. Jenner, a mainstay in the news last year after going public with her gender transition, was named Time Magazine's 2015 Person of the Year and the "Most Fascinating Person of 2015" by Barbara Walters.

The book will chronicle Jenner's journey from Bruce to Caitlyn and, as GCP put it, "her brave transition into womanhood." Young said the book will be "not just a compelling memoir" but "an odyssey of courage and perseverance that represents an important chapter in our cultural evolution."

For Bissinger, the goal is to "create a book that will be riveting, important and reveal all the complexities and twists and turns of her life from boyhood to transition."
