Bruce Springsteen has sold an autobiography called Born to Run to Simon & Schuster for a reported $10 million. The book will be released internationally on September 27 in hardcover, e-book, and audio editions by S&S in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and India, and rights have already been sold to publishers in nine countries.

Born To Run will cover Springsteen's childhood and early days as a musician. According to S&S, the Boss started writing the book, named after his iconic 1975 album, in 2009. In a press release about the book, Springsteen said: “Writing about yourself is a funny business. But in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind. In these pages, I’ve tried to do this.”

The international publishers of Born to Run are Editions Albin Michel in France; Mondadori in Italy; Heyne in Germany; Natur & Kultur in Sweden; Spectrum in the Netherlands, Politikens in Denmark; Cappelen Damn in Norway; Otava in Finland; and Penguin Random Spain.
