Bret Easton Ellis will release his first work of nonfiction in April 2019. White will, its publisher, Knopf, said, combine "commentary and personal reflection in a wide-ranging exploration of our reputation economy."

The book will be published in hardcover and e-book simultaneously on April 16, 2019, and will also be available simultaneously as a Penguin Random House Audiobook, read by the author.

In White, Ellis will reflect on our political and cultural moment, Knopf said. "[H]e describes how our country’s structure and nature have evolved relentlessly into the age of social media and political correctness, when the contradictions inherent in all of us are at risk of being erased," the publisher said of the book.
