Sales Snapshot

The #1 title in several U.S. regions is Judge Stone by actor Viola Davis, costarring James Patterson. Better Than a Touchdown, a picture book by Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, illustrated by Nneka Myers, takes the top spot in the region that includes Pennsylvania, and the trade paperback edition of Allen Levi’s Theo of Golden, in its 23rd week on sale, shines in the Mountain region.

Winging It

Briar Boleyn self-published two books in her Bloodwing Academy series before getting scooped up by the majors. After the first two installments received their Mira makeovers, the deluxe edition of the third, The Wings That Bind, swoops onto our hardcover fiction list at #2.

Livin’ on a Prayer

The latest from Fox News Sunday anchor Shannon Bream, Nothing Is Impossible with God, debuts at #1 on our hardcover nonfiction list. After a trio of books centered on the women, mothers and daughters, and love stories on the Bible, Bream here turns her attention to 11 biblical heroes, drawing lessons from how they faced their many challenges. In a prepub interview with PW, she explained why the tales resonate. “The thing I love about a lot of these stories is that not everybody from the get-go is on board with God, obedient, faithful,” she said. “Many of them are fighting what he’s trying to do or accomplish. Spending some time in the fish, like Jonah, trying to figure things out? I can relate to that.”

Dropping Amino Acids

At #9 on our hardcover nonfiction list, Eat to Hustle is by Robin Arzón, head instructor and VP of fitness and programming at Peloton. Writing with registered dietician Dalina Soto, Arzón helps readers amp up their protein intake without relying on meat: think chickpea pozole, 20g of protein, or a burrito bowl with faux chorizo, 42g of protein. (Note to Popeye: a 13.5-oz. can of spinach has about 6g.) It joins The High-Protein Plate by registered dietician and certified personal trainer Rachael DeVaux, which debuted on our hardcover nonfiction list at #5 and is #14 in its second week on sale. DeVaux takes a more omnivorous approach, with recipes including short ribs with bone broth polenta, rosemary-garlic lamb chops with veggies, and chili crisp tofu and quinoa power bowls.
