HarperCollins imprint Ecco has signed Anthony Bourdain for his first new cookbook in 10 years (since 2004’s Les Halles Cookbook). Appetites, currently slated for a release in fall 2016, will be coauthored with Laurie Woolever. Ecco president and publisher Daniel Halpern negotiated the deal with Kim Witherspoon of Inkwell Management.

The book, said Ecco, will boil down 40 years of “professional cooking and world traveling to a tight repertoire of personal favorites,” ones that, in Bourdain’s opinion, everyone should know how to cook, with a focus on cooking and entertaining at home.

Bantam Dell picked up world rights to professional chef and blogger Theresa Carle-Sanders’s new cookbook, Outlander Kitchen, based on her blog of the same name. The book will feature historical and character-inspired recipes from Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling Outlander series (also published by Bantam). Anne Speyer at Ballantine Bantam Dell acquired the book, with Susan Finesman at Fine Literary representing Carle-Sanders. Outlander Kitchen goes on sale summer 2016.

Weldon Owen has acquired North American rights to Mamushka Cookbook: Recipes from Ukraine and Eastern Europe, by Olia Hercules, from Stephanie Jackson at Octopus UK. It’s the debut cookbook from the chef, who worked with Yotam Ottolenghi, and was also named named the Rising Star of Food 2015 by the Observer in the U.K. The book, to go on sale October 6, will encompass Ukrainian and Eastern European food through recipes, personal stories, and photography.
