Tina Jordan, v-p of the Association of American Publishers, has left the organization. Jordan had been based in AAP’s New York City offices which were closed earlier this year as the association consolidated much of its staff in Washington. D.C.

Among her roles at AAP, Jordan oversaw the association’s trade publishing activity, the statistics operation, and literacy efforts.

Jordan had been at the AAP for 12 years, joining the association after spending nine years at Reed Exhibitions, were she was known to the book world as the public relations and events director of BookExpo America.

Jordan’s departure from AAP, and the closing of the organization's New York and Philadelphia offices, is part of the changes taking place after Maria Pallante took over as CEO in January 2017. At the beginning of 2018, the AAP issued a new mission statement that suggests the organization will now focus on public policy issues.

Before deciding her next move, Jordan said she will take time off, predominantly skiing and surfing. “I owe much of what I know about serving boards and surfing boards to Macmillan CEO John Sargent. I cannot, and will not, let him down," she quipped.
