Consortium Book Sales & Distribution, which distributes in the U.S. and Canada for more than 120 companies all over the world, announced Monday that it has added five publishers to its client list for the spring 2011 season.

The new publishers include Gentle Path Press, which was founded by sexual addiction expert, Dr. Patrick Carnes, in 1978. Headquartered in Carefree, Ariz., and associated with the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, Gentle Path Press specializes in books and other resources about addiction, trauma, and brain chemistry for both consumers and professionals. Spring 2011 releases include Facing Addiction: Starting Recovery from Alcohol and Drugs by Patrick Carnes and The Problem Was Me: How to End Negative Self-Talk and Take Your Life to a New Level by Thomas Gagliano with Abraham J. Twerski, MD.

3-D Press, launched in Worcester, England, in 1999, evolved over the past decade from a 3D resource website into a computer graphics arts website and a book publisher. 3-D Press publishes the Digital Art Masters and Digital Painting Techniques series. Spring 2011 release include New books include Digital Painting Techniques: Volume 2, Digital Art Masters: Volume 6, and Photoshop for 3D Artists: Volume 1.

Biblioasis, based in Emeryville, Ont. Canada, was founded in 2004. The company publishes in a variety of genres, including literature, poetry, criticism, history, philosophy, children’s and young adult titles, and pornography. Spring 2011 releases include the Giller Prize–nominated short story collection Light Lifting by Alexander Macleod, the first English translation of The Accident by Romanian author Mihail Sebastian, and The Wage Slave’s Dictionary, a volume of anti-economic etymology.

Dialogue, based in London, is one of three imprints of Biteback Publishing, a British politics and current affairs book publisher that launched in 2009. Dialogue publishes nonfiction releases in a variety of subjects, including current affairs, UK and international politics, military history, intelligence, geopolitics, and political science. Their spring/summer 2011 list includes Inside the Pakistan Army by Carey Schofield Six: A History of Britain’s Secret Intelligence Service by Michael Smith.

Fence Books, founded in Albany, New York in 2001, is associated with Fence, a biannual journal of poetry, fiction, art, and criticism. The mission of this nonprofit press is to redefine the terms of accessibility by specializing in the work of writers who might otherwise have difficulty being published because their work does not fit into the mainstream or into recognizable modes of experimentation. Fence Books is affiliated with the University of Albany and the New York State Writers Institute.

These publishers' books will be available to order through Consortium as of January 1, 2011, with the exception of Gentle Path Press releases, which Consortium began selling on October 1.
