Pegasus Books has a new fiction imprint, Pegasus Crime. The line will publish crime fiction, mystery novels, police procedurals, espionage thrillers, and paranormal suspense. Pegasus Crime’s first title, out in April, will be The Preacher, a follow-up to Camilla Lackberg’s international bestseller, The Ice Princess.

Following in the summer, Pegasus Crime will publish debut author Holly Luhning’s gothic thriller Quiver (already out in Canada from HarperCollins Canada), and Danish crime writer Sara Blaedel’s first American release, Call Me Princess.

Pegasus publisher Claiborne Hancock said the imprint grew out of a meeting with W. W. Norton in which Norton director of sales Bill Rusin suggested putting Pegasus’ crime fiction under “one banner.” Going forward, Pegasus Crime will publish 12 titles in the first year, including hardcovers and trade paperbacks. Norton distributes its print books and Open Road Integrated Media does its e-editions.
