On the heels of the news that Julian Barnes's novel The Sense of an Ending has been shortlisted for the British literary award, the Man Booker prize, U.S. publisher Knopf has bumped up the release date to next month. The book, which Knopf was originally set to publish on January 27, is about a middle-aged man forced to deal with unsettled matters from his past when old friends start coming back into his life.

The Sense of an Ending was published in the U.K. by Cape; the Man Booker winner will be announced in a ceremony on October 18.
