As Exterminating Angel Press approaches its fifth anniversary, publisher and editor Tod Davies has announced its first fundraiser campaign, via Indiegogo, with the aim of raising $7,500 to help publish more books each year.

In addition to the campaign, and to celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 22, EAP is launching a special weeklong (September 16 – 22) ee-book promotion for Richard James Bentley’s debut novel Greenbeard. During the promotion, the e-book will be available for $1.99 across all e-book vendors. Greenbeard was published in May as a $14.95 paperback. The October publication of Mike Madrid’s Diva’s, Dames, & Daredevils: Lost Heroines of Golden Age Comics, a fully illustrated look at forgotten heroines of the World War II era, will bring the number of EAP titles to 13. The press is distributed by Consortium.

EAP is based in Colestin, Ore. with a satellite office in Boulder, Colo. “Our motto is ‘Creative Solutions for Practical Idealists,’” Davies says. EAP’s backlist includes Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife by E.E. King; Davies’ own Jam Today: Cooking With What You’ve Got; and Correcting Jesus: 2,000 Years of Changing the Story by Brian Griffith.

“Our reach has expanded immeasurably, and we should be leaping to more books a year,” says Davies of the fundraising efforts. “We want to connect with more like-minded people.” Davies’ video for the Indiegogo page reflects the philosophy of EAP itself, including a spontaneous expletive from the publisher as she forgets her lines. “”I suppose everyone can relate to hating to ask for money!” she says, laughing, “but we hope this brings Exterminating Angel Press new supporters.”
