HarperCollins’ HarperOne division will introduce a new line next fall dedicated to the body, mind, spirit category. HarperElixir will be headed by HarperOne senior v-p and associate publisher Claudia Boutote and will release about 15 titles annually.

While the mind, body, spirit category has long been a focus of HarperOne, the audience has grown and changed, Boutote told PW. She sees the market for HarperElixir as “seekers who are looking for personal transformation...they are asking some fundamental questions.”

HarperElixir's lead title for next fall will be a new book by Don Miguel Ruiz, the author of The Four Agreements, a bestseller published by Amber-Allen. Boutote, along with Harper senior v-p and executive editor Mickey Maudlin, took world rights to the book. Other authors signed for the launch list are Carol Pearson, author of The Hero Within, and Arielle Ford, author of The Soulmate Secret. Both women have been published by HarperOne, and Boutote said that as their backlist titles are reprinted they will appear under the HarperElixir banner.

Joining Boutote on the editorial side at HarperElixir is Libby Edelson, who has moved from Ecco to be senior editor. Most of the line's books will appear simultaneously in hardcover and e-book formats, but Boutote said at some point she expects to do some digital-first projects.
