Publishers Weekly has announced that Cevin Bryerman, CEO and executive v-p of parent company PWxyz LLC, has taken on a new role as president of a newly formed business venture, PW Content Studio, with Joe Murray moving up to publisher, effective immediately.

“Joe Murray is a creative thinker and product development strategist with a proven history of successful initiatives,” said Bryerman, in announcing Murray’s promotion. “He’ll be an excellent publisher.”

Murray has been with Publishers Weekly for 25 years, most recently serving as v-p of sales and associate publisher.

“I am thankful for this opportunity and thrilled to step into my new role as publisher,” Murray said. “This is an exciting time to be a part of the PW team, as we continue to dedicate ourselves to bringing the industry to our readers.”

Murray's promotion will enable Bryerman to focus on growing and running PW Content Studio. Launched this year, PW Content Studio is devoted to creating new experiences and offerings for the professional publishing community, including custom content and events, as well as forging new and expanded domestic and global partnerships, including in the technology sector.

“I am looking forward to opening up new opportunities for publishers and vendor partners, both in the U.S. and internationally, to share their stories through PW’s platforms,” said Bryerman who, in addition to serving as president of PW Content Studio, will continue in his role as CEO of PWxyz.
