Looking to capitalize on the books-as-objects trend, Sourcebooks has formed a bespoke publishing operations team, appointing Carolyn Telesca to head the new unit as VP. According to the announcement, the new group will work to give entrepreneurial authors more creative control over their brands by employing customized designs and workflows tailored to their preferences. Telesca has more than 20 years of publishing experience, most recently serving as production and manufacturing lead for Macmillan’s Fablelistik fine press imprint. She will work remotely from New York.

“Our bespoke publishing program is a bold step forward for Sourcebooks and our authors,” said Sourcebooks publisher and CEO Dominique Raccah, in a statement. “Carolyn’s expertise will unlock incredible opportunities for authors to realize their creative visions, while helping us deliver exceptional books to readers.”

“I’m thrilled to join Sourcebooks at such an exciting time,” Telesca added. “The bespoke program is packed with innovative ideas that will redefine how authors bring their stories to life, and I can’t wait to see how we grow this together.”

Joining Telesca on the bespoke publishing team is Heather Hall, newly promoted to manager of editorial production. Hall, a 13-year Sourcebooks veteran, has been integral to the growth of Sourcebook’s romance imprints. While Telesca and Hall will focus on building out the bespoke publishing program, they will collaborate on projects across Sourcebooks as needed.
