Publishers and people of faith mourned the loss of Myles Munroe, a minister and much-published author, who died along with his wife Ruth and seven others in a plane crash Nov. 9. Munroe, 60, founded and led Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship.

He published 22 books with Whitaker House, the most recent of which was The Power of Character in Leadership (Jan.). “Dr. Munroe helped to mold a new generation of leaders,” Bob Whitaker Jr., president of the publishing house, said. Whitaker considered him a friend, recalling that Munroe had provided him with consolation and advice after company founder Bob Whitaker Sr. died in 2012.

Munroe also published In Charge: Finding the Leader within You (2008) and another title with FaithWords, with a third in development. Publisher Rolf Zettersten said Munroe had a “constant positive outlook and devotion to sharing the Gospel.”

Munroe also publishes with Destiny Image. On Tuesday, he was trending as the most popular author in the religion and spirituality category on Amazon.com.
