Jesse Myers has been named the new president and chief executive officer of the family-owned Christian publisher and retailer, effective May 1, 2023. The announcement was made by the company board of directors who had appointed a committee to find a new president and CEO. Myers will replace Dwight Baker who is retiring from Baker Book House on April 30, 2023. It is a historic moment for the company, as Myers is the first person outside of the Baker family to hold the position.

Myers will bring more than 10 years of experience in Christian publishing to Baker, with a background that includes sales, marketing, and editorial roles. He is currently the publisher of Lexham Press and the director of original content for Faithlife, the makers of Logos Bible Software.

Speaking on behalf of the Baker family, Dwight Baker said, "We believe that Jesse is the right person to lead our company in the midst of both challenges and opportunities facing Christian publishing today. We warmly welcome Jesse and commit to praying for him as he assumes his new assignment.”

In his statement, Myers said he was "thrilled and honored" to join Baker, "an industry-leading publisher serving readers around the world."

Founded in 1939 in Grand Rapids, Mich., Baker Publishing is comprised of five divisions that publish around 300 books per year. The Baker Book House Company also includes the Baker Book House retail store.
