Debuting on PW’s Religion Nonfiction Bestsellers list, The Josiah Manifesto: The Ancient Mystery & Guide for the End Times by Jonathan Cahn takes the #1 spot in September. The bestselling author of The Harbinger and The Return of the Gods once again examines ancient mysteries that allegedly lie behind current events in the new book, this time looking at “a plague, a national lockdown, days of fire, and the changing of the Supreme Court,” according to the publisher. Coverage included a piece in Charisma Magazine, and Cahn continues to share thousands of videos on his YouTube channel and has a strong following on social media.

Sarah Jakes Roberts, the daughter of Bishop T.D. Jakes, takes #2 in Religion Nonfiction with All Hope is Found: Discovering the Joy of Expectation (Thomas Nelson). The book was released in conjunction with Woman Evolve ’23 Conference, an event Roberts hosted in Arlington, Tex. on September 14. The book was featured at the conference and Roberts promoted it to her 2.6 million Instagram followers, according to Thomas Nelson.

Also marking its debut on PW’s Religion Nonfiction Bestsellers list, The Garden Within: Where the War with your Emotions Ends and Your Most Powerful Life Begins by Anita Phillips (Nelson Books) takes #3. Phillips was a speaker at Roberts’ aforementioned Woman Evolve conference.

Falling from #1 from last month, The Artist’s Way takes #4. And rounding out the top 5 in Religion Nonfiction is Hard is Not the Same Thing as Bad: The Perspective Shift that Could Completely Change the Way You Mother by Abbie Halberstadt (Harvest House). Marketing and publicity for the book included a national advertising campaign, a pre-order push, and book signing events. “We were fortunate enough to partner with an author with a strong platform and motivated audience,” says Heather Green, associate publisher at Harvest House. “Abbie has worked hard to nurture her audience, pointing them to a Biblical motherhood.”

In Religion Fiction, The Stranger in the Life Boat keeps afloat at #1. Christina Rich’s A Family for the Twins debuts at #5 on the list after Harlequin offered the novel at a discount on its website.
