Lake Drive Signs Two New Titles
David Morris, publisher of Lake Drive Books, has taken world rights to the tentatively titled For God Still Loves the World: Imagination, Compassion, and the Journey to Ourselves by the unagented Trey Ferguson, a minister, public theologian, and cohost of the Three Black Men podcast. The book, planned for November 2026, outlines how God speaks to the "heart language" of our time and includes the author’s “New Living Treyslation” of key Bible passages, said Morris.
Morris also acquired world rights to David P. Gushee’s More Than Belief: Life-Giving Themes That Define Christian Faith Today. It is drawn from the prolific author and Christian ethicist’s years of preaching about moral clarity and how we live today across and through differences, conflict, justice, grief, and hope, according to Morris. Gushee, who was unagented in the deal, is a past president of the American Academy of Religion. Release is tentatively set for summer 2027.
Rolheiser Offers Hope in Suffering
Lillian Miao, director at Paraclete Press, landed world rights to the latest book by Paraclete author Ronald Rolheiser titled Our Heart Is Stronger than Our Wounds: Finding Hope in Suffering. Rolheiser, who represented himself, assures readers that God’s grace, understanding, and love are stronger than our wounds, collapses, failures, and moments of despair, per the publisher. Publication is set for September.
Moody Lands Look at Sibling Relationships
Acquisitions editor Catherine Parks of Moody Publishers has taken world rights to the provisionally titled Friends for Life by Janie Erickson, an author, speaker, and host of the Mom to Mom podcast. The book uses seven core values found in sibling relationships in scripture to equip parents to raise brothers and sisters who love—and like—each other for life, according to the publisher. Jenni Burke of Illuminate Literary Agency negotiated the deal. A September 2027 release is planned.
Brazos Takes Guide to Sexuality
Ingrid Beck with the Bindery negotiated world rights to Kara L. B. Haug’s tentatively titled Worth the Awkward with Brazos Press senior acquisitions editor Grace P. Cho. The fall 2027 release “will help readers have a more holistic understanding about sex and sexuality and how to talk about it in an open, healthy way with others, particularly their children,” according to the publisher. Haug is a certified sexuality educator and hosts the podcast Reframing Our Stories.
NavPress Title Explores Men’s Faith and Physicality
Deborah Sáenz, acquisitions editor at NavPress, netted world rights to Chase Replogle's A Physical Faith: Stop Ignoring or Idolizing Your Body and Start to See It as God Does. Pastor, writer, and podcaster Replogle argues that men turn to faith for the soul but to online influencers for the body because Christianity has lost its physicality, according to the publisher. Janet Kobobel Grant of Books & Such Literary represented the project, set to release in fall 2027.
IVP Wins Haan’s Case for Reconstructing Faith
Associate editor at IVP Rachel Freire O’Connor acquired world rights for the tentatively titled Jesus and the Reconstructors: Rebuilding Faith in the Gospel of John by Aaron Haan, a Christian counselor who specializes in those hurt by churches and religious organizations. Haan, who was unagented, uses the Gospel of John to present deconstruction and reconstruction as central to Jesus’s mission, said the publisher. Release is slated for fall 2027.
