How It’s Done: The book has been in the first 20 positions of the Italian bestseller since it was published. The publisher has gone back to press three times, and now has nearly 50,000 copies of the book in print. The novel was preempted by publishers in Portugal, Serbia, France, and Bulgaria. Rights are controlled by agent Vicki Satlow.

Why They Think It’s Working: According to Minuto, Sparaco has "a solid fan base" and her readers were waiting for this novel to hit shelves. "Her previous book was about a father-daughter relationship, [and here] she has gone back to the classic subject of doomed lovers. [She has also] done so with her incredibly smooth style, flair for romance, and compelling writing.”
