house and garden With the press-out pieces of a new series of playtime cum vocabulary-building books, children can pop muffins into the oven (in Play Kitchen) or, with a hoe from the potting shed, plant some tomatoes (in Play Garden). Each book features four pages of double-sided press-out pieces and four pages of engaging scenes with flaps and slots. Pieces are not to scale, but kids might enjoy having a Popsicle bigger than a turkey. The flaps are especially fun: with Play Cleaning, children can load the dishwasher; Play Garage begins by letting readers open the garage door.
