This month, Michelle Argyle at Melissa Williams Design reimagines the cover of Vanished by N.V. Baker, who praised the new cover, calling it “captivating.”

Design Note #1: Many covers use both serif and sans serif fonts. I used only serif fonts to convey a sense of traditionalism for this suspenseful, literary thriller.

Design Note #2: Enlarging the author’s name helps push this cover into the thriller genre.

Design Note #3: Including the image of a Middle Eastern city is not only true to the story but also works to set the tone of the book for readers.

Design Note #4: The novel takes place over the course of many years, so I went with an aged look to convey the passage of time.
