Children's book author Paula Danziger passed away yesterday after complications from a heart attack. She was 59. Best known as the author of the modern classic The Cat Ate My Gymsuit and the Amber Brown series, Danziger published more than 30 books for children. None of Danziger's books have ever been out of print.
Danziger wrote for a wide range of audiences, from beginning readers, with her A Is for Amber series, to her bestselling novel for older readers, P.S. Longer Letter Later, which she co-wrote with Ann M. Martin. Her respect for young people, evident in all of her books, and her unusual sense of humor and style will be missed.
